1Overview
MRC Soccer at the World Robot League follows the official rules of the Maker Robotics Challenge (MRC), Thailand. The event is divided into three formats — Robo Futsal Open Hardware, Robo Futsal LEGO and Robo Futsal Micro — by platform and robot specifications. The summaries below are for reference; the linked MRC pages are the authoritative rulebooks.

5WRL Operation Notes
5-1WRL divisions for MRC Soccer are operated as: LEGO Spike (Jr), Open (JR/SR) and Micro (JR/SR). The divisions open for each competition will be confirmed in the competition announcement.
5-2Minor modifications to the MRC rules may apply for WRL operation. All final regulations — including any modifications — will be fully announced at least 50 days before the competition on this page.
6MRC vs KRL Robot Soccer — Comparison
Alongside the Thai MRC rules above, IREA also operates its own Korean rulebook, KRL – Robot Soccer (Ver 24.09.24). The two rule sets differ substantially — the table below compares them side by side. Which rulebook applies to each competition will be confirmed in the final regulations, announced at least 50 days before the event.

※ Key KRL-only game rules: kickoff from the centre circle with a whistle, free kicks and penalty kicks for fouls, drop-ball restarts, robots may only be substituted through the goal while the ball is in the opposing half, and no timeouts during play (2 minutes may be requested before each half).
